Description
[Bridge. Book-shaped bridge game set]. Light brown shagreen slipcase, spine with four faux ribs, blind-stamped borders on the covers, edges and interior with a copper-coloured moiré finish, two light brown shagreen straps on the upper inside cover, a matching tray with two card compartments, a press-stud pocket and a dice compartment. The set comprises 1 notebook of 50 sheets by G. Lalo in Paris, 1 small mechanical pencil with refills, 3 red dice, 11 tokens in a small press-fastening pouch, and 2 (incomplete) decks of cards by Catel & Farcy. Two columns on the first sheet of the notebook are filled in with an old game featuring the initials ‘JE’ and ‘CM’ and their scores. Some cards are missing from the red set; the case contains only cards numbered 2 to 6 and a joker. The blue set (without its case) is complete except for one in two jokers; the corner of one card compartment is slightly open. A good example.
