Description
COTTAFAVI (Gaetano). *Nuova Raccolta delle principali Vedute di Roma e suoi Contorni*. Rome, Tommaso Cuccioni, 1837. Oblong folio (30 x 42 cm), repeated engraved title and 40 gr. (inner board approx. 27 x 20 cm). Green half-shagreen, plain spine with 5 faux ribs, double cold-stamped fillets framing the covers, gilt title on the upper cover, cover preserved (contemporary binding). A fine album of views of Rome. The engravings, of excellent quality, were engraved by Gaetano COTTAFAVI, PARBONI and G. ACQUARONI, after Gaetano COTTAFAVI, MARCHI and E. CIULI; some are dated from 1832 to 1837. A few very rare marginal stains, not affecting the engravings; leather-covered spine; minor damage to the upper cap.
