Mottled fawn calfskin, spine with 5 raised bands and floral decoration, title page in red morocco, blind-stamped fillet on the covers, gilt edges, red edges (contemporary binding).
Second edition, corrected and considerably expanded, of this treatise on obstetrics, the most popular in France during the 18th century.
Illustrated with a frontispiece of the author, engraved by Louis LE GRAND after CHARDIN, and 5 folding plates engraved by SCOTIN the Elder (2) and LE GRAND (2).
