A Treatise on Childbirth, containing important observations on the practice of this art; two short treatises, one on certain diseases of the womb; and the other on diseases of infants; four papers, the first of which deals with blood loss in pregnant women, and the other three with milky deposits. Edited and published by Mr Morisot Deslandes. Paris, Desaint & Saillant, and P. Al. Le Prieur, 1759. In-4° de lx, 429 [ch. erroneously 419], [3] pp. Mottled fawn sheepskin, spine with 5 raised bands and floral decoration, title page in red morocco, gilt fillet on the edges, red edges. First edition, posthumous. This copy comprises three main chapters (childbirth, diseases of the womb and those affecting children), followed by the four announced treatises and a dissertation by CRANTZ on the rupture of the womb caused by the foetus during labour pains.
