Description
COLETTE. [COMMERE (Jean)]. Pour un Herbier. Paris-Bièvres, Pierre de Tartas, 1972. Folio, loose-leaf, bound in a sturdy beige paper cover incorporating real fern fronds and plant material, and decorated with a yellow floral motif; complete with the publisher’s brown Skivertex cardboard slipcase, with gilt title on the spine and a violet suede-like lining. The volume is illustrated by the painter Jean COMMERE with 21 original lithographs, including 12 in colour (6 across double-pages and 6 full-page). Limited edition of 311 copies; this is copy B of the 8 copies printed on pearlescent Japanese paper following a single unique copy, making it the 3rd copy. Includes an original watercolour composition signed by the artist, a set of all the double-page and inset plates on Grand Vélin d’Arches paper, signed by the artist, as well as a colour breakdown of one plate. The copy bears the artist’s signature and the bailiff’s stamp.
