In-4°, 232 pp. Unbound, ivory-coloured filled cover with the title in red, slipcase in raspberry-coloured morocco leather and red velvet, title gilded on the spine adorned with an ivory-mosaic depiction of a couple circa 1880, double blind-stamped border with spandrels on the upper cover, lower cover in half-velvet, edges in red velvet. 15 original colour lithographs within the text by Michel de GAILLARD, including 1 large one on the title page and 3 full-page illustrations. Copy with its certificate of authenticity on pearlescent Japanese paper. Printed in an edition of 295 copies; this is no. XVII on Arches vellum, one of 20 ‘Collaborators’ copies, signed by the illustrator. A few foxing spots on the spine of the cover; the spine and band on the upper cover of the slipcase are sun-faded.
