In-4°, 173 pp. Unbound, with a filled-in title page, blue embossed slipcase, title labels on the spine, and a matching case. 54 original etchings engraved by Auguste BROUET, including the frontispiece and 6 full-page illustrations. Printed in a run of 215 copies; this is no. 141 of 125 on Rives vellum watermarked with the names of the author and the artist, containing the final version of the etchings. From the library of Charles GROS, with his engraved blue bookplate bearing the motto ‘Tout par amour, Rien par force’. A small tear in the slipcase; a fine copy.
