Quarto, 313 pp. Red sheepskin with four-colour mosaic pattern, spine with four raised bands decorated with 12 gilt metal fittings, title page in green sheepskin, covers richly inlaid, gilt head; the volume housed in a half-red sheepskin slipcase, gilt title on the spine, box lined with red sheepskin. (Art du centre, Limoges). 15 full-page colour plates by Yvonne VAULPRÉ DEBEAUVAIS. Drawings and ornamentation by Dominique BUKI. The 12 original metalwork elements of the binding were engraved by Michel VINCENT ‘in homage to Marius Michel, regarded as the greatest bookbinder of the late 19th and early 20th centuries’. Printed in a run of just over 664 copies on watermarked Rives vellum; this copy is no. 44 of 199 (following 15 ‘grands papiers’), with the illustrations hand-enhanced and accompanied by a suite of illustrations.
