Description
WEBB (Mary). [OUDOT (Roland)]. Sarn. Paris, Creuzevault, 1950. In-4°, XV, 248 pp. Loose-leaf, illustrated cream-coloured filled cover, ivory-coloured cardboard slipcase with imitation shagreen finish, title on spine in green and brown, matching slipcase. Translated by Jacques de LACRETELLE and Madeleine GUÉRITTE. Illustrations by Roland OUDOT, wood-engraved by Théo SCHMIED; some plates required more than 20 successive prints. Printed in an edition of 250 copies; this is no. 46 of the 25 printed on Rives vellum, with one of the 50 sets of the 57 colour illustrations, in a slipcase and matching box. The copy is signed by OUDOT, initialled by the publisher, and includes a dedication by the artist: ‘To Dr Suzanne Mechel-Strub, with respectful homage. Roland Oudot. ’ Some signs of wear to the slipcase and the spine of the folder; a good copy.
