[Doubs. Manuscript]. First Book of sales and disposals made in the S[eigneu]rie of Mortau […]. Orchamps-Vennes, 1624. A substantial manuscript in-8° comprising 280 folios. Soft ivory-coloured vellum of the period, title in ink on the upper cover, laces. Register of property transfers in the seigneury of Morteau, including at La Grand’Combe, at the beginning of the reign of Louis XIII. The volume is supplemented by various loose documents dating from the end of the Ancien Régime to the Restoration concerning the CHOPART family of La Grand’Combe, including Claude-François Simon, a labourer: a letter, petitions (including copies), a (stamped) laissez-passer to travel to Switzerland, defences, a copy of the LACORE judgement, receipts, accounts, measurements of a ‘perche’, the joint purchase of a ‘romêne’, ‘Statement of the days spent by me on the matter of Councillor de Boulot’s claim in 1779’ [details and costs of legal proceedings in Besançon, 3 pp. in-8°], handwritten brief (1784): ‘Response from CF Chopar on behalf of the inhabitants of La Grand Combe regarding the report to the magistrates of Besançon’, 2 pp. in-8°, and others. Some minor water stains; the vellum is damaged in places with a few missing sections.
