New edition, preceded by the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, promulgated by the National Assembly in 1791. Contains the Charter of 1830, the Civil Code, the Code of Civil Procedure, the Commercial Code, etc. From Franche-Comté: Handwritten bookplate by Pierre François VAUTEY de Menotey, with the following inscriptions on the blank endpapers: ‘Book purchased at the fair in Pême [Pesmes, Haute-Saône] on the fourth of May eighteen hundred and forty for the sum of one franc and seventy-five centimes, Pierre François Vautey de Menotey’ and ‘Purchased from Bazaille in Pême by myself, Pierre François Vautey’. Some foxing; very slight damage to the binding.
