A substantial in-12 volume, bound in full olive-green morocco, with triple gilt fillet on the covers, a ribbed spine decorated with fine embossing, inner lace, and all edges gilt (Chabolle-Duru) The last edition published during Desportes’s lifetime; he died a few weeks after its publication. A superb copy, very finely bound and gilded by Chambolle. A beautiful book.
