92- COURCELLES (Jean-Baptiste de): ‘Dictionary of the Nobility of France... ’ Paris: published by the author, Arthus-Bertrand, at the General Office of the Nobility of France, 1820–1822. 5 volumes, in-8, paperback (complete). The illustrations in this copy include a fold-out plate in Volume I, featuring several coats of arms highlighted in colour; a heraldic plate numbered 3 in Volume II; the same plate, also numbered 3, in Volume III; and two plates numbered 2 and 4 in Volume IV. Three plates of coats of arms appear to be missing, as Volume V contains none in this copy. A few foxing spots. The publisher’s bluish paper cover. Smooth spines (tears at the head and foot). A minor paper loss on the spine of the fifth volume. A leaf with six handwritten lines opposite the title page of Volume I. Satisfactory condition overall. FIRST EDITION, RARE, particularly sought-after in its original binding.
