With Notes and Supporting Documents: compiled from the original authors and titles, and enriched with various historical sources. ’ Paris: Jacques Vincent, Printer to the Estates General of the Province of Languedoc, 1730–1745. 4 folio volumes: volumes 1, 3, 4 and 5 (of 5). Plates drawn by Cadas, Dufour, Gleyses, Despax, Nolin and Rollin, and maps with coloured outlines. Initial letters, headpieces and tailpieces. Some old traces of damp in volumes III and V. Marbled full calf binding of the period (scuffs and snags). Ribbed spine decorated with title label and volume number (part of the spine of volume III damaged). Fair condition overall. Ex-libris bearing the coat of arms of Gabriel DE LACGER, an old family from the Tarn. A set comprising four of the five volumes of the FIRST EDITION of one of the major works devoted to the history of Languedoc (Brunet V, 1029).
