Large oblong quarto album (approx. 29 × 39 cm), complete with lithographed title page and 60 plates of views, monuments and sites in Paris and its surroundings, lithographed on tinted ground, with scrollwork. Publisher’s cardboard binding, the front cover adorned with a large gilded architectural design depicting the former façade of Paris City Hall. Plain spine. Gilded edges. A few foxing spots, mainly in the margins; most of the plates remain in good condition. A RARE and fine copy of this work on Paris during the Second Empire, offering a remarkable panorama of the capital and its surroundings prior to the major urban transformations of the second half of the 19th century.
