223- ARCHAEOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF SOUTHERN FRANCE: ‘Album of Monuments and Ancient Art of Southern France.’ Toulouse, Édouard Privat Printers and Booksellers, 1893–1897. 3 in-4 albums, in the publisher’s cardboard folders, bringing together the three successive instalments of the first volume: first instalment, 1893, 13 plates; second instalment, 1895, 13 plates; Volume One, 1897, 22 plates, making a total of 48 complete plates, in perfect sequence from 1 to 48. The first two instalments are therefore the preparatory/initial instalments of the project, whilst the 1897 volume constitutes Volume One proper. An illustrated collection of plates devoted to the monuments, architecture and ancient works of art of the South of France. A few foxing spots on the text pages. In good overall condition. A rare collection of the three original instalments constituting the entirety of the first volume, preserved in their original cardboard sleeves.
