224- TROUVÉ (Claude-Joseph, Baron, former Prefect of the Department of Aude): ‘A Historical Essay on the Estates-General of the Province of Languedoc, with maps and engravings. ’ Paris: Firmin Didot, Printer to the King, 1818. 2 volumes, small quarto, complete with all 4 plans, 3 folded maps (one of the Aude in colour), 3 folded views, 2 plates of coats of arms and a synoptic table. 19th-century green half-cloth binding (signs of wear). Smooth spine with title label (tears and a gap on the spine of volume II). Satisfactory condition overall. RARE FIRST EDITION, enhanced by a DEDICATION from the author with an AUTOGRAPH SIGNATURE (the recipient’s name has been cut out, though the autograph signature is, fortunately, entirely preserved).
