Description
254- DUHAMEL DU MONCEAU (Henri-Louis): ‘On the Sowing and Planting of Trees, and their Cultivation; or Methods for Propagating and Raising Trees, and Planting Them in Clumps and Avenues... ’ Paris: published by the Widow Desaint, 1780. A complete quarto volume with all 16 folded plates. Full marbled calf binding of the period. Spined back decorated with floral motifs and a title label. Corners worn. Ex-libris bearing the coat of arms of Antoine-François-Bertrand DE MOLEVILLE (1744–1818), Minister of the Navy and the Colonies under Louis XVI. A fine copy. The stamp of the Montauban Municipal Library is the result of a clerical error, expressly noted in two attached certificates authorising the free circulation of the work (one from the auctioneers Paul Arnaune and Éric Prim, the other from the Montauban Municipal Library, signed by Pascal Leroy, curator).
