Small 12mo, [2]-2 blank pages-[8]-278-[8] pages, petrol-coloured calfskin, gilt fillets framing the covers, lace lining, decorated ribbed spine, gilt edges (contemporary binding). ‘A general understanding of all men is the art that teaches us to discover their most secret inclinations, the stirrings of their souls, their virtues and their vices. ’ A fine Elzevirian edition sought after by collectors, with the errata on the last page of the table of contents and adorned with a beautiful frontispiece depicting the author.
