Large 8vo, [34]-862-46-[36] pages, hard vellum binding, gilt lace and coat of arms on the covers, plain spine with gilt decoration (contemporary binding). Sixth edition of this popular study of the Latin grammar by the humanist Francisco Sánchez de Las Brozas, first published in 1587. This edition includes notes by Professor Perizonius and the philologist Gaspard Scioppius. A fine copy in a Dutch binding featuring unidentified coats of arms with the motto ‘Sic itur ad Astra’, taken from a quotation by Virgil: (‘Thus one ascends to the stars’). 3 folios, 457, numbered a, b, c, d, e, f.
