- Hemp. An anonymous, undated folio manuscript (circa 1818) comprising 18 leaves, 2 of which are blank (bound into 2 booklets tied with a pink ribbon). A very detailed treatise on all the stages leading from the plant to its various uses within the navy, including sailcloth and ropes… At the end, a summary table of the various fabrics used in ports. Beautiful handwriting, excellent condition.
- Notes on methods of protecting woollen fabrics from the insects that most commonly attack them.
Anonymous, undated folio manuscript (early 19th century) comprising 10 folio leaves, one of which is blank (bound together in a single booklet tied with a white ribbon). A list of techniques (fumigation, various washing methods, etc.) for combating the clothes moth. The handwriting is brisk and rapid but legible; a fine copy.
