A magnificent and very rare edition of only 38 copies, illustrated with 32 remarkable colour etchings by Maurice de Becque, including a frontispiece and several full-page ones. One of 8 numbered hors-commerce copies on Hollande, with the handwritten mention "Exemplaire d'artiste signé par moi-même Maurice de Becque", enriched with a LETTRE MANUSCRITE SIGNE DE L'ARTISTE concerning this work and a suite in black with remarks of all the illustrations, preserved inside the subscription form illustrated with 3 etchings (one of which is not reproduced in the work). Minor wear to the slipcase. ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ILLUSTRATED BOOKS BY THE ARTIST.
