Bordeaux, Henry – *Sibyle ou le dernier amour* – Copy printed No. 17/50 on pure-fibre paper from the first edition, with an autographed dedication by the author, in a binding by Pommier in full blue morocco. Librairie Plon, 1932. In 12 format, on large, unbleached, wide-margin paper from the first edition, untrimmed, in a signed full blue morocco binding, ribbed spine, interior of the covers with double gilt fillets, gilt top edge, gilt edges on the covers with double gilding, original endpapers preserved, initial of Jeanne Bainville. Autograph dedication by the author to Madame Bainville: ‘To Jeanne Bainville, this tale of a painful love whose torment has not shattered its harmony’. A very fine copy. For information, Jeanne Bainville was the wife of Jacques Bainville, a French journalist, historian and member of the Académie française, and a friend of Henry Bordeaux. Henry Bordeaux (1870–1963) was a French lawyer, novelist and essayist, originally from Savoie. He was elected to the Académie française in 1919. A prolific writer, he enjoyed considerable success with the public.
