Cabrol, Elie – *La première absence*. Letters in verse (April to October 1885...) - A very rare copy, with an autograph dedication by the author. Published by Librairie des Bibliophiles, 1872. 12mo, 203 pages on fine paper, with 12 etchings after d’Hurcelles. Percaline cloth (slightly rubbed) with the front cover illustrated with a gilt stamp; interior in fresh condition. Élie Cabrol (1829–1905) was an author, art lover and patron of the arts. His works, published in small print runs and in luxurious editions, were reserved for an elite group of wealthy connoisseurs. Upon his death in 1905, the Prix Cabrol was established by his will to reward authors and artists from the Aveyron region.
