Febvre, Frédéric – *Journal d’un comédien* (2 volumes, 1896) – A long autograph letter signed by the author to the Seigneur de Montrottier, dated 18 July 1914. Illustrations by Julian-Damazy. Paris, Ollendorff, 1896, first edition. Preface by Jules Clarétie to Volume I and by Alexandre Dumas fils to Volume II. 2 volumes of XII + 281 pages and 273 pages. The set is bound in half-chagrin with corner pieces, a ribbed spine and a monogram on the front cover, with a high gilt head; a fine copy. Note: the author was a French actor and director (1833–1916) who spent virtually his entire career at the Comédie-Française. This work recounts his memoirs and his encounters with the leading figures of the nineteenth century.
