Lenègre, Souze plate) in burgundy half-shagreen (1 corner slightly worn) - Front cover richly decorated with a black and gold frame of Oriental inspiration and the central coat of arms of the Order of Malta on a white background, repeated in gold on the back cover - Smooth spine, decorated and inscribed in gold - Gilded edges - Volume 2: engraved title, printed second title with vignette, 22 steel engravings including 3 colour maps: Lebanon, Palestine and Egypt, and numerous woodcuts within the text - Publisher’s binding in maroon cloth (2 corners worn, discolouration on the cloth, small tear beginning at the first joint) - Front cover richly decorated with a black and gold frame of Oriental inspiration and the central coat of arms of Saint Louis on a blue background - Spine plain, decorated and gilded (top and bottom caps worn, a section missing from the last panel) - A fine copy.
