Rare princeps of this illustrated work on ancient astronomy.
Jacques Grandami (1588-1672), Jesuit dean of the Royal College of the Society of Jesus at La Flèche, developed his own conceptions of terrestrial magnetism in order to defend the immobility of the Earth and refute the Copernican theory.
