Contemporary speckled fawn basane, spine with 6 raised bands decorated with gilt roulette, compartments decorated with fleur-de-lysé iron, gilt fillet and roulette, red edges (corners dulled, edges and headband rubbed, stains and very small lack of leather on the boards). Beautiful copper-engraved portrait of Montaigne on the title page. A good copy.
