Small in-4 (26 x 17 cm), (4) ff. (including title-frontispiece, dedication, notice, table), 78 engraved plates, (1) f. of privilege. 18th century half vellum with corners, painted with glue to blend in with the boards, smooth spine, blue speckled edges (corners dulled, engraved title cut out and reassembled, small loss to the dedication page restored, lateral wetness on a few quires, a few stains, one corner of a plate missing). Beautiful work almost entirely engraved. Includes the arms of the knights and commanders of the Order of the Holy Spirit created by Louis XIII at the chapter held in the Augustins church in Paris on 31 December 1619. With an engraved title, a dedication by the author, a warning, a table of knights and officers, the King's privilege and the arms of Louis XIII, Henri de Bourbon, François de la Rochefoucault, 65 knights of the Order of the Holy Spirit and 10 officers.
