PINELLI, Bartoloméo. Raccolta di costumi italiani i più interessanti... Roma, Presso Luigi Fabbri, (ca 1828). Oblong folio (36 x 49 cm), engraved title, 52 plates. Azure dust jacket, handwritten title label on upper cover (very slight foxing to title). A fine copy, complete with plates. Collection of 51 plates drawn and etched in black by Bartolomeo Pinelli, captioned in Italian and French. Accompanied by an engraved title page and a frontispiece, they illustrate numerous costumes of the inhabitants of various regions of Italy, notably Milan, Venice, the Kingdom of Sardinia, the Tyrol, Genoa, Rome, Tuscany and Naples. Bartolomeo Pinelli (1781-1835) was an Italian artist and engraver who quickly gained great popularity in Italy thanks to his illustrations of classical Italian and Roman works. As his success grew, he turned to scenes and vignettes, even in Europe.
