Description
LOT DECORATIVE ARTS -CALLOT (Jacques), after. [La Petite Passion]. Suite of 12 black scenes engraved on copper, mounted in leporello on strong paper. Published by Pasquier in Paris around 1750. Each plate (ca 10 x 13 cm) is numbered and titled in Latin, with Callot's signature reproduced at the bottom and the words "chez Pasquier" to the right. Complete and unusual. Blue Percaline in-12 square, decorated and reinforced with gilt clasps and gilt metal corners, gilt plate of foliage and scrolls on one cover, title and date in gilt on the other. This cover does not seem to fit its contents and is incorrectly titled "La Grande Passion par Jacques Callot 1630" (slight oxidation of the paper but a nice item). -FEUILLETS D'ART (Les). Number 1. Paris, May 1919. Small folio. [2]-94 pp, woodcuts, text printed in red and black. In sheets, in a publisher's folder with flaps and white and black laces. Uncommon. Illustrations in black or in colour, including a very fine large in-4 print of Georges Lepape's "Femme au miroir rouge", in colour, on japon (chemise tired and slight oxidation, as is often the case, but a good copy). -LUNOIS. LITHOGRAPHIC WASHES. ANDRE, Edouard. Studies on some original artists. Alexandre Lunois, painter, engraver and lithographer. Paris, Floury, 1914. In-4, (3) ff. (half-title, frontispiece, title), 246 pp. 25 plates, red half-percaline, smooth spine, gilt title, cover preserved. Monograph followed by a catalogue of the work and illustrated with 26 plates, etched or in heliogravure, some in colour, including a frontispiece, and reproductions in the text. Spine a little faded, tears at head of spine, browning in margins of a few plates. - MARQUET, Albert (1875-1947). The apse of Notre-Dame. 1939. Original lithograph in black, signed in the plate, under captioned serpente (28 x 22 cm margins included), work done for or from his painting (oil on canvas), of the same title, executed in 1913. Published in the Gazette des Beaux-Arts, March 1939, of which the fascicle is attached (cover a little faded, small lack at the back), containing an article on Marquet by Claude-Roger Marx. Large format in-4, 199 pp. black illustrations, 2-colour cover.
