In-8 in-12 format, (8) ff., 1123-162 (index and commentary)] pp. ivory vellum sewn with covers, smooth spine, contemporary handwritten title, blue edges. A good copy almost as issued, with good margins (binding slightly soiled by time, 2 endpapers missing, slight oxidation of the paper and browning, minor defects in the margins of qq. pages). -PASTHÉE (sieur de, pseudonym). L'Artifice merveilleux dont se sont servis les Ministres de La R. P. R. pour piper les Catholiques et les retirer du giron de l'Eglise... A Lyon, chez Louis Muguet, 1636. In-8, (2) ff. (title, epistle to the readers, approb. dated 1618), 685 pp. (badly chif. 585), (4) ff. (table), nice grotesque typographical mark on title. Contemporary soft vellum, formerly rebound, smooth spine, title in ink (light spotting, one gnawed corner on lower board, browning, light spotting in margins, more extensive at end of volume). Provenances: Capucins de Tournon (handwritten bookplate on title); Paul Couturier de Royas (1853-1934), bibliophile dauphinois (bookplate) -PROCOPE DE CÉSARÉE. OEuvres (De la Guerre contre les Perses). A Paris, chez Guillaume de Luyne, 1669. 2 parts in 1 volume, in-16 format. 16 ff. and 434 pp. with engraved bands. Contemporary soft vellum, handwritten title on spine, upper board decorated with a curious circular ornament painted in brown and red ink and outlined with small perforations, red edges. Nice engraved typographical mark on the title. Slight soiling of the vellum, one inside spine damaged, a few stains and light spotting but a good copy.
