BLANC, Louis (1811–1882). BLANC, Louis (1811–1882). Autograph manuscript, [History of the French Revolution]; approx. 520 pages in-4, mounted on tabs in a single volume bound in fawn half-basane with corner pieces, decorated spine. An important manuscript comprising 15 chapters of this *History of the French Revolution...*, published between 1847 and 1862 in 12 volumes. The manuscript contains erasures and corrections. Each chapter bears a title and begins with a summary: – Mirabeau’s Ambition, – The Struggle against the Reign of Terror [the end is missing], – The Twelve Overthrown, – The Girondins Ousted from Power, – Debates on the War [summary only], – The Fatherland is in Danger, – The Trial and Death of the Dantonists [a final note is incomplete at the end], – The Lyon Revolt Suppressed, – The Jacobin Tribunal, – The Girondins’ Sans-culottism, – Philosophy, – The Avignon Icehouse, – Dumouriez’s Betrayal, – The Gospel in the Face of the Revolution, – The Girondins. The volume concludes with a 14-page autograph manuscript entitled *La Liberté*. A portrait of Louis Blanc has been bound at the front, and further on there is a facsimile of a letter to Maurice La Châtre.
