Six manuscript pages on paper, the text in Persian Nast’aliq script copied in black ink, with a few terms and characters in red ink, in 27 lines; one side illustrated in gouache and gold. The first illustration depicts a man with an animal’s head conversing with three men whilst riding a donkey, with three musicians leading the procession. The second shows a turbaned prince (‘Shah Zadeh’) seated on the terrace of a pavilion between two women, with four other women approaching them; the pavilion overlooks a river on which a boat is floating. The third depicts a man named Sayyed Muhammad Mahdi [?], wearing a turban and dressed in white, seated at the foot of a fountain in a chahar bagh garden, with two women in the background appearing to flee in panic. In the fourth, an old man is speaking to a noblewoman surrounded by her maidservants on a terrace. In the fifth, two men are keeping watch over a third man, dressed in white and lying on a couch on the terrace of a pavilion, with a man and his horse in front of the entrance. The sixth depicts a man fleeing from attackers who are stoning him as he crosses a river, carrying a knapsack on his back. Several figures with captioned names and several illustrations numbered in black ink.
