COURT ALMANAC AND CALENDARS. A charming set of small volumes, beautifully bound in morocco leather bearing the coat of arms. Very fine copies. Description: -Court calendar for the year 1830, printed ‘For the Royal Family’. Paris, Le Doux Herissant. In-18. (2)-239 pp., pink silk endpapers, gilt edges. Navy-blue morocco leather embossed with the coat of arms of the Duchess of Berry. -Court calendar for the year 1825… printed for the Royal Family… Paris, Le Doux Herissant. 18mo. (2)-218 pp., green endpapers, gilt edges. Navy blue morocco with a long-grain grain pattern, decorated with the coat of arms of Louise d’Artois. Louise-Marie-Thérèse d’Artois (1819–1864), daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Berry, known as Mademoiselle, then Countess of Rosny in 1830 following the fall of her grandfather, Charles X. She owned a substantial library. - *Le Courrier de l’Amour*. Almanac. [With] the *Calendrier de l’An de grace 1786*. Published in Cythere and available in Paris, Widow Valade. In-24. (2)-32-(32) pp. and pp. 33–64. Contemporary red morocco, plain, unmarked spine with decoration, gilded palm leaves and gilded scrolls framing the covers, gilded stamp of the Dauphin’s crown in the centre of the covers, star-patterned gilded marbled paper on the endpapers (leather slightly stretched and slightly tarnished). An extremely rare stamp depicting France leaning over the cradle of Louis-Charles de France, with the inscription ‘Vive Mgr le dauphin’, all set within a medallion resting on two dolphins and surmounted by the Dauphin’s crown. Louis-Charles, the second son of Louis XVI, better known as Louis XVII, was born in 1785. Included: In an elegant binding attributable to Derôme, in polished cardinal red morocco stamped with the arms of Louis XVI, a notebook of blank pages. Small 16mo. Wide gilt lace edging with small ironwork on the covers, corners and spine decorated with fleurs-de-lis; smooth spine with the date 1775 in gilt; red edges; endpapers at the back (probably a reused binding with attractive 19th-century paper).
