MANUSCRIPT. THE KING’S HOUSEHOLD. HUNTING. STATEMENT OF EXPENSES FOR THE KING’S GRAND HUNT, drawn up by the Grand Veneur during the quarter of July 1725. Small folio (44 x 27.5 cm), (8) folios, including 2 blank pages, sewn and mounted on a tab. Green half-shagreen Bradel binding with very small modern corners, red cardboard covers with gilt title, binding signed Yves Dagonet (some oxidation, traces of creases, spine worn). Description: Written in brown ink on watermarked laid paper, in large script with calligraphic capitals. Detailed accounts by budget headings: kennels, stables, huntsmen, furniture storage, maintenance, details of the hound pack and horses...  Bearing the handwritten signature of Louis Alexandre de Bourbon (1678–1737), Grand Veneur to the King. Count of Toulouse and French prince, son of Louis XIV and Madame de Montespan, Admiral of France.
