2 volumes, large 8vo, XVI-374 pp. and (6)-373 pp. Contemporary green morocco, ribbed spine, author’s name, title, volume number and date in gold, richly decorated panels, large floral gold stamp in the centre of the covers framing a gold lyre with a border of fillets, scrolls and dotted lines in gold, large gold stamps on the corners, gilt fillets and scrolls, double gilt fillet on the edges, guilloché caps, inner covers lined with red morocco leather with a border of gilt scrolls and fillets, double endpapers of handmade paper, gilt edges, original cover preserved [Chambolle-Duru] (very slight, barely noticeable sun fading on the spines and upper covers, with the gilding on Volume II slightly oxidised; a few light foxing spots on the first quires of the volumes; a few marks on the second endpaper of Volume I).

A very fine copy with full margins, elegantly bound in morocco leather and signed by Chambolle-Duru.
