In-8, 244 pp. Contemporary fawn morocco, spine with raised ribs, author’s name, title and date in gold, ornate panels, fillet framing, gold tooling and dots interspersed with small flowers, double gold fillet on the headbands and endpapers, lace on the headbands and footbands, endpapers and half-ends lined with olive-coloured moiré silk, original cover preserved [Chambolle-Duru] (minor imperfections). Description: A fine copy, exquisitely bound in beautiful morocco leather by Chambolle-Duru. An illustrated edition featuring 28 compositions by Oreste Cortazzo, an Italian painter and engraver and pupil of Léon Bonnat, finely etched by Abot and Clapès.  Single print run, limited to 1,000 copies, including 150 on Japanese and Dutch paper; this copy is no. 52 on Japanese paper, hand-verified by the publisher. Etchings accompanied by two black-and-white plates.
