3 volumes, large 8vo, (3) folios including the author’s portrait, XXIV–324 pp., (2) folios, 338 pp. and (2) ff., 323 pp. Red morocco, raised ribbed spine decorated with a gilt fillet, author’s name, title, volume number and date in gilt, mosaic framing with a geometric pattern on the panels, covers and endpapers, gilt edges on endpapers, guilloché-cut edges, original covers preserved [Chambolle-Duru] (spine very slightly tarnished, very slight scuffing).
