In-16, 285 pp. Brown morocco, ribbed spine, author’s name, title and date in gold, compartments framed by 5 gilt fillets, covers decorated with several frames formed of 12 gilt fillets, inner covers lined with morocco leather adorned with gilt fillets, linings and endpapers in beige split leather, edges gilt on guards (minor snags on 3 raised bands). Description: A fine copy. Illustrated edition featuring works by Gustave-Adolphe Mossa: 6 plates including 1 frontispiece, numerous vignettes and end-piece illustrations, all in colour, and initials printed in bistre. Limited edition of 970 copies: one of the 30 special copies on Japanese paper (no. 18), containing four states of the illustrations, and an original watercolour by the artist, signed. Enriched with: - 2 sheets on card featuring 12 small original sketches in ink and watercolour, intended as notes for the illustrations of *The Marriage of Figaro*. - 3 original drawings by Robaudi, signed, in ink with colour highlights, intended to illustrate the same text. - 4 autograph cards signed by G.-A. Mossa.
