Provenance:
René Rouzaud (1905–1976), famous lyricist and author, notably of *La Goualante du pauvre Jean* performed by Edith Piaf (gilt ex-libris on a blue label).

First edition printed in a run of 15 copies on large-format paper: one of the 12 printed on vellum from the Papeteries du Marais, specially produced for Éditions de la Revue Blanche (no. 15, the only paper used after 3 ‘Chine’ and 3 ‘Japon’).Original cover preserved, illustrated from a watercolour by Pierre Bonnard.A charming copy in a binding perfectly executed by Madeleine Gras. Madeleine Gras (1891–1958), trained at the Union Centrale des Arts Décoratifs at the height of the Art Deco period, was a pupil of Noulhac, alongside Rose Adler, amongst others.
