First edition of this maritime novel, illustrated with a heliogravure portrait of the author.
Printed in a run of 850 copies: one of the 75 on Japanese paper (no. LXIV, second paper after 25 on China paper).
It contains the portrait in two states and a facsimile of the manuscript of the book’s first page.
