PICASSO. REVENTÓS, Ramon. Two short stories. *The Centaur Picador*. *The Twilight of a Faun*. Paris, Edition Albor, 1947. Small folio, loose-leaf, unpaginated, 32 unnumbered leaves including half-title, title page, four original black drypoint engravings by Pablo Picasso on buff laid paper featuring the text’s illustrations, the text, the proof of print run and blank leaves, in a modern slipcase imitating a havana morocco binding, covers and flaps covered in modern domino-patterned paper, all housed in a slipcase with navy morocco-style piping and green-tinted tissue paper (discreet oxidation of the paper, typical for this period; slight oxidation along the edges of the drypoint engravings; the half-title page is partially split at the fold and discoloured on the reverse, without the publisher’s wooden cover). Description: Original French edition translated by Jaume Canyameres. This copy is illustrated with four original black drypoint engravings by Pablo Picasso, printed on Roger Lacourière’s presses, with a caption dated and autographed by the artist on the plate and printed upside down. Each plate bears the copy number II/IV and is signed in Picasso’s own hand. Limited edition of 250 copies, including 20 proof copies with a suite. A copy numbered in Roman numerals, considered to be one of the non-commercial copies reserved for collaborators, not listed in the proof. Described as “a few copies for collaborators; this one is one of the last, proofed ‘II/VIII with suite by Henri Jonquières’”. This copy, no. II/IV, is hand-marked by Henri Jonquières, director of printing, and bears his handwritten signature.
