Michael Rudiger, 1708?] In-8, an illustrated edition featuring a frontispiece, a portrait and 42 engraved plates, including one fold-out. Contemporary full red morocco binding, the covers entirely decorated with a rich design in fine tooling, a fleur-de-lis in the centre, spine decorated with five raised bands, all edges gilt. Stamp of Dr Robert Fournie’s library on the first and last pages; ex-libris of Dr François Moutier. One of the most important illustrated obstetrics books of the late 17th century. Plate no. 14 is missing, as is the case with all copies according to bibliographers. (no title page; binding scuffed; small stains; wormholes on the spine and upper joint)
