In-4, first edition illustrated with 15 original etchings by Auguste Brouet, Charles Jouas, Pierre-Adrien Bouroux, Georges Le Meilleur, Charles Hallo, Edgar Chahine, Amédée Féau, Henry Cheffer, Bernard Naudin, Georges Gobô, André Dauchez, Louis Willaume, Georges Jeanniot, Pierre Gusman and Tigrane Polat. Limited edition of 100 numbered copies; this one is no. XI, printed for Georges Montorgueil. Full green morocco binding, spine with 5 raised bands, 6 gilt fillets framing the endpapers, gilt top edge, covers and spine preserved, signed J. Zendel. Georges Montorgueil’s bookplate; a copy from the author. The copy is accompanied by an autograph letter signed by André Dauchez to the author concerning a meeting of the Société de St Eloy. (spine sun-faded) Enclosed in a separate slipcase is a set of 18 engravings for the book, including one signed and numbered 9/20 by André Dauchez with the dedication “To the author of this fine book”, as well as 7 illustrated menus from the society, one of which is numbered 32/60 and signed by Brouet.”
