Large 8vo, first edition illustrated with a frontispiece by Albert Lynch, engraved by Manesse, comprising 72 separate plates in heliogravure with captions, depicting book bindings, and ornamental designs based on works by Adeline, Fraipont and Giraldon. Limited edition of 100 numbered copies on paper from the Imperial Paper Mill in Tokyo (Japan), this being no. 7, printed for Paul Delalain. Plum-coloured full leather binding, the front cover adorned with a large composition depicting a scarab against a spider’s web background, plain spine, gilt upper edge, covers and spine preserved. This copy includes the frontispiece in two different states. (spine sun-faded, cover spine worn)"
