6 volumes in-8, an edition illustrated by Fessard with 723 engravings, including 6 title pages, 1 frontispiece, 1 decorative medallion in volume 1, 243 separate plates, 243 vignettes and 226 end-piece illustrations after Bardin, Bidault, Caresme, Desrais, Houël, Kobell, Leclère, Leprince, Loutherbourg, Meyer and Monnet. Text engraved by Montulay and Drouët. Second printing addressed to Des Lauriers.
Bound in green-tinted grained full calfskin, with decorative scrolls on the covers, a smooth, decorated spine, and title and volume number labels in red morocco; all edges gilt on marbled paper.
