PYRENEES - Aviation - Ballooning: Album containing a very interesting collection of photographs and photographic postcards relating to the aviation adventure in Pau: Balloons, airships, the early days of aviation featuring the Wright brothers, Paul Tissandier, Louis Blériot, the Comte de Lambert, the Louis Blériot School, etc... including photographs by Ed. Jacques, a photojournalist in Pau, and by Callizo. A photo postcard of Tissandier with a handwritten letter to Mrs Sallenave, 1909. A signed photograph and several handwritten letters from the Swiss aviator Oskar Bider, the first aviator to have completed a full crossing of the Pyrenees and the Alps. Photographs of the distance record broken by Legagneux in 1910, in a Blériot aircraft; photographs of the Paris-Madrid flight; approximately 120 items.
