BARONIO (Cardinal Cesare). Martyrologium romanum. Venice, Petrum Dusinellum, 1587. In-4, cold-stamped saddle-skin over boards, decorated with roulettes featuring small portraits of humanists in medallions, remains of clasps, yellow edges (Binding of the period). Venetian reprint of this important martyrology published in 1584, decorated with a fine copper-engraved architectural frontispiece. A copy partly rubricated in red ink, with the frontispiece in period colours. The frontispiece is poorly bound after the introductory leaves. Smudging in some quires.
