Manuscript small in-4 of 2 ff.n.c., 44 pp., 1 f.n.c., 58 pp., 1 pl., 1 f.n.c., 50 pp. and 1 f.n.c., blue glazed calf, framed with five gilt fillets and fleurons at the corners, large spandrels in cold, 3. 1ERS GRADES gilt in the centre of the first plate, spine gilt, gilt edges, interior roulette (Binding of the period). Manuscript divided into three parts, written at Brother Fayet's house in Paris, Passage des Panoramas, and intended for members of the Vrais-Zélés lodge in Chalon-sur-Saône (Champagne), as indicated by a long note at the head, dated 24 June 1836: D'après la haute estime conçue pour la R. L. des Vrais Zélés, O. de Chalon [...] the present notebooks were given and sent to the said Lo. at its request. With a symbolic plate showing the temple of the Freemasons and mentioning some of their moral principles (love of humanity, prudence, courage, uprightness and intelligence).
